The limit of the Microsoft SQL database has been reached

If you have already worked with ASA-AMOffice© for a number of years, your database can reach a size of 10 GB.
As soon as your database is larger than 9 GB and you are using the "Express" edition of Microsoft SQL Server, ASA-AMOffice© displays a warning to users with administrator rights.

The "Express" edition of Microsoft SQL Server is free, but has some restrictions. One limitation is a limit of 10 GB. As soon as you have reached this 10 GB, you can no longer save any data in ASA-AMOffice or Microsoft SQL Server.

If your database reaches its maximum size, you can do one of the following:

  1. (Recommended!)
Switch to the PostgreSQL database. The PostgreSQL database is free of charge and not limited to a certain size. A migration of the database is initiated via the "ASA-AMOffice© Server Management Tool". The "Database migration to PostgreSQL" tool is located in the "Database" tab. Start this program and follow the instructions.

  2. Perform the database shrinkage. To do this, start the "ASA-AMOffice© Server Management Tool". In the "Database" tab you will find the "Reduce database" function. Start this tool. The database is now freed from superfluous data records.

  3. Upgrade to the paid version of Microsoft SQL Server. We recommend the "Microsoft SQL Server Standard" edition.
